March Issue 2007
Ella Walton Richardson Fine Art Gallery in Charleston, SC, Features Works by William Entrekin and Scott Moore
Building on the gallery's reputation of premiering startling artistic talent from across the country in the heart of Charleston's burgeoning gallery district, Ella Walton Richardson Fine Art Gallery in Charleston, SC, will debut the poignant sensitivity of Georgia artist William Entrekin the boldly constructed architectural portraits of Scott Moore. The exhibit entitled, Reflections of Americana, will be on view from Mar. 2 - 31, 2007.
William Entrekin
Often compared to the haunting oils of 20th Century Master Andrew Wyeth, Entrekin's works on paper and canvas give voice to the introspective landscape of the American South. Moore, who appreciates his own blend of American landscape as a resident of Penobscot Bay, ME, has had multiple painting sojourns in Charleston. Moore's recent tributes to the beloved city's homes and landmarks alongside the strikingly subtle approach of Entrekin's remarkable artistic technique will enthrall art collectors throughout the month of March.
Gallery owner Ella Richardson is most looking forward to the exhibit as a platform to introduce her clients and fellow art lovers to the astonishing visual talent of southeastern artist William Entrekin. When she first saw his work in 2006, she immediately correlated his atmospheric approach and effortless narrative quality to the work of Andrew Wyeth. And rightly so, as Wyeth's undeniably famous achievements have provided immense inspiration for Entrekin since he began formal fine art study under Georgia artist Richard H. Sturges. Today, Entrekin has followed in Wyeth's footsteps with his mastery of the use of egg tempera on his canvases, while also creating watercolors with near-photographic quality. His debut exhibit in Charleston will certainly reflect his continued, unfaltering quest to capture his own rendition of the American South in the highest visual exactness possible.
Scott Moore
Reflections of Americana will showcase more than the premiere of one outstanding artist's work; it will also reintroduce Charleston art lovers to a true admirer of their beloved city. Scott Moore has been traveling to Charleston to portray the sparkling coastal light and its multitude of reflections in the face of architectural splendor since Richardson opened her Broad Street gallery in 2001. The show serves as a splendid homecoming for Moore, as his most recent tributes of Edisto palmetto trees and quintessential Charleston architecture have been receiving immense critical acclaim. With his distinctive artistic blend of Edward Hopper's structural minimalism and a storyteller's vibrant penchant for richness of color, Moore continues to attract the most discriminatory collectors to his trademark landscapes.
