Francis Marion University in Florence, SC, will host the 25th-annual Art's Alive festival on Apr. 13, 2002. The festival, a celebration of the arts for the whole family, will take place from 10:30am to 6pm, rain or shine, and is free and open to the public.
The festival, celebrating its silver anniversary, is a tradition in the Pee Dee and is now attracting its second generation of attendees.

Theatre and dance performances from ballet to line dancing are also scheduled, as well as a magician, unicyclist and juggler.
A number of area visual artists will have exhibits on display, and craft demonstrations including chair caning, sweetgrass baskets, stained glass and antique picture frame restoration will be offered.
There will be numerous hands-on activities for children, such as face painting and sidewalk chalk art. Visitors are welcome to bring a picnic lunch or purchase food to suit all tastes from a variety of vendors.
This project is funded in part by the Florence Regional Arts Alliance and the South Carolina Arts Commission, which receives support from the National Endowment for the Arts.
