The group's work includes watercolor, pastel,
oil and acrylic and represents various genres ranging from realistic
to impressionist and abstract. Ocean Isle, NC, artist, Marilyn
Pounds, who currently serves as President of Waterway Art Association
is an award-winning artist in both watercolor and oil. Her love

realistic paintings. David Utterback of Myrtle Beach, SC, also

nature.

children and flowers. She credits artist Jean Grastorf for her

brilliant colors. Millie Hayden also works in watercolor. She
is a native of Virginia and finds inspiration for her paintings
in her dreams. She studies with local watercolor artist Joan Sanders.
Lynn Jerr

oil and has had several successful one-woman shows at prestigious
galleries including La Fon Gallery in Myrtle Beach and the Jasper-Rand
Art Exhibit of the Westfield Athenaeum in Massachusetts. Her awards
include a Best In Show at the Waterway Art Show and First Place
at the Blanford Art Association Show in Massachusetts.
Born in Italy, Nerina Cilento is also an award-winning oil painter.
She now resides in Sunset Beach, NC, and is best known for her
richly detailed still-life paintings. Veda Doss, originally from
India, describes her watercolor work as abstract, a reflection
of her culture and heritage. She has received awards from the
Waterway Art Association and Brunswick Arts Council.
Fay Callaway Morrisson started out work with bold and bright acrylic
paints. Now working in watercolor, her favorite subjects include
florals and marsh scenes. Linda Hester of Fayetteville, NC, and
Ocean Isle Beach, NC, signed up for a watercolor class several
years ago and has been painting ever since. Her work has been
accepted in juried exhibitions at Cape Fear Studios and at the
Arts Council in Fayetteville. Dorothy Smith, a native of Queensland,
Australia, paints in both watercolor and acrylic and is drawn
to bright, vivid colors.
Gallery owner Ginny Lassiter says, "Despite the diversity
in style, there's a cohesive energy to this show that's quite
remarkable. I'm very pleased with how this has come together."
