Transylvania County Arts Council in Brevard, NC, Offers New Exhibits
The Transylvania County Arts Council is presenting the exhibitions, North Carolina Museum of Art High-School Student Art Exhibition, and Brevard Sculpture Project, at the Transylvania Community Arts Center Gallery in Brevard, NC, from Apr. 1 - May 1, 2004.
The main gallery will feature 22 winning entries from an annual statewide high school competition sponsored by the Outreach and Education Program of the NC Museum of Art. The works were inspired by the museum's collection through on-line or on-site study.
The gallery wing will feature sketches, studies and other preliminary work created by six Transylvania County artists in preparation for their contributions to the Brevard Sculpture Project. The project is an independent, public art initiative that will culminate in a "sculpture trail" around downtown Brevard. Each of the sculptures will depict native animals.
