Robert Lange
Artists participating in the exhibit include: Robert Lange, Allan Hall, John Duckworth, Jeffery Lange and Wade Lawrence of Robert Lange Studios, Mickey Williams of Mickey Williams Studio, Fred Jamar of Charles II, Gary Grier of The Wells Gallery, Harriet Zabusky of SOHO Myriad, Charles Ailstock of Artizom, as well as Michael Tyzack, Kara Hammond and many others.
Mickey Williams
From the soft and misty horizon lines that Mickey Williams' creates to the stark color play that Allan Hall infuses into his still lives, the Small Works 2005 show is an assembly of unique artists.
Each artist is submitting 3 to 6 pieces that represent their distinguished styles. All of them are "little gems," as the gallery owner Robert Lange refers to them. For the show, the gallery will be displaying smaller works no larger than 16" x 20" and priced from $200 to $2000, providing collectors with a chance to buy smaller pieces by some of their favorite artists.
All of the artists chosen for the show are practicing fine art painters and photographers, most with art education backgrounds. The variety of styles, colors, mediums, and subject matter is brought together with a size criterion; making each work it's own mini masterpiece.
Smaller pieces painted by well-known artists hold a certain appeal that larger works by those same artists may not; they are desirable because of their intimacy and collectable nature.
"You can actually watch collectors eyes light with mischief as they pick the perfect piece," said Lange. "People always have a little wall someplace in their house that needs a touch of color and a story to go with it."
