Hilton Head Art League on Hilton Head Island, SC, Offers Annual Art & Flower Festival
The Hilton Head Art League will be holding its annual Art & Flowers Festival at the Country Club of Hilton Head on Hilton Head Island, SC, on Apr. 23, 2006.
This event is the official harbinger of Spring. Each year approximately 30 artists are invited to display one of their artworks. A floral designer then creates an arrangement of fresh flowers to compliment the art. Both the art and the flowers are magnificent. All of the artwork is for sale.
In addition to the opportunity to view the artwork and the unique floral arrangements, the event includes a sit-down luncheon and a fashion show presented by Tradewinds of Pineland Station. There are two lunch seatings (11am and 1:30pm) and advance reservations are required. A very popular event, the tickets sell out rapidly. To make a reservation, contact Cecilia at 843/785-7696. For those who only want to see the art and the flowers, without the luncheon, they may do so from 2-4pm and tickets for the walk-through are available at the door for $6 per person.
Every year one artist is selected to be honored. This year's honoree is Terry Brennan. He has been a driving force in the Art League and was vitally involved in the creation of the current Art League Gallery in Pineland Station. He then went on to design and help set up the Society of Bluffton Artists gallery on Boundary Street in Bluffton, SC. His painting for the Art & Flowers Festival is, Autumn Marsh. He may be rushing the seasons, but the painting is outstanding. Joanne Brennan, his wife, will be doing the flowers to go with his piece.
