North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC, Offers Works by John Menapace
North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC, is presenting the exhibition, With Hidden Noise: Photographs by John Menapace, at the Gallery of Art & Design through May 14, 2006.
Many people have known Menapace's work for decades and his recognition has inspired and engaged that community. His teaching and publications like the Latent Image series and letter in a Klein bottle have also helped make North Carolina an important center for photography.
Curator Huston Paschal and John Menapace, with help from photographer Elizabeth Matheson, reviewed many hundreds of his photographs. After careful consideration they made a selection of 60 that cover his active years admirably.
In conjunction with this exhibition, the Gallery of Art & Design will present a gallery talk with Raleigh photographer David Simonton who will speak about the work and give an informal tour of the exhibition. The talk will be held at the Gallery on Apr. 6 at 7pm and will be free and open to the public.
