Richland County Public Library in Columbia, SC, Features Works by Ellin Baskin
Artwork by Spartanburg, SC,
native Ellin Baskin is on display in the Wachovia Gallery of the
Richland County Public Library in Columbia, SC, through Apr. 16,
2006. The exhibit offers a diverse selection of styles and
interpretations, capturing a variety of South Carolina landmarks,
such as the Gervais Street Bridge, the State House and a Sullivan's
Island sunrise.
A graduate of the University of South Carolina, Baskin's artwork
has been featured in a number of local galleries, restaurants
and museums. Her work as a self employed artist since 1980 earned
her the Camden Art Association S.H. Coe Landscape Award in both
1983 and 1991 as well as the Merit Award in 1987 and 1988.
