Artful Living in Hickory, NC, Features Works by Janice Jackson
Artful Living located on Level Three at the Hickory Furniture Mart in Hickory, NC, will continue its Artist Series with a presentation of major works by pastel artist Janice Jackson. The exhibition will be on view from Apr. 1 - 30, 2007.
A native of South Florida, Jackson began to develop her artistic talent more than 30 years ago. She completed a two year art course and then took time out to raise her family (a son and two daughters) with the help of her husband of 40 years.
In 2003, Jackson discovered pastels and resumed a serious interest in drawing and painting. She studied under Michael Bock for a year and has attended various workshops including an event in Boone, NC, sponsored by Luana Loconi Winner in 2006. Jackson has also been featured in the Hickory Art Crawl as well as having her work juried into the Full Circle Arts Fall Show two years ago.
"I am looking forward to continuing painting with the hopes to further showcase my work throughout the surrounding area for a long time to come," says Jackson.
