April Issue 2008
Art On Lincoln in Columbia, SC, Offers
Group Show
Art On Lincoln in Columbia, SC, will present the exhibit, Through Our Eyes, featuring works by Teresa Lee Kay (Dorest, England), Leisa Watts (Sarasota, FL) and Columbia, SC, artists; Charles Myers, David West and Taryn West, Howard Hunt, Trahern Cook, and Bob Manown. The exhibit will be on view from Apr. 1 - 30, 2008.
At the show one of the seven original photographs, by award winning artists Howard Hunt, will be hung with one photograph per wall with the corresponding artist's works surrounding their subject. This will allow each wall to show the diversity in how each artist sees an image uniquely and then uses individual techniques and styles to communicate their personal interpretation of that particular photograph. Our goal is to get the viewer to understand how individually each artist sees, approaches, interprets, works, and communicates. The audience is sure to enjoy this fascinating one of a kind art show. The artist may do what they want, paint the entire photo, a part of the photo or go beyond the photo, change colors, etc.
Hunt hand selected the photographs for this show from his collection. The photography was selected to compliment the participating artists different styles and with one or two of the images help push the artist outside their comfort zone.
The artists hope the visitors of this show will be able to see and appreciate how the artists view and communicate their vision through their art. This informative and educational art show is about how the same image is viewed, processed, and finalized into art - as the individual artists see it. Please come by and experience this one of a kind opportunity to see how artists communicate through vision.
