Gallery 115 in Greensboro, NC, Offers
Group Exhibition
Gallery 115 in Greensboro, NC, will present
the exhibition, An Unexpected Line, featuring works by
Robert Gerhart, Marcia Macdonald, David Newton, Liz Zlot Summerfield,
and James Williams. The exhibit featuring works by the five artists,
working in different mediums, some combining unusual materials,
each resulting in works with "an unexpected line" will
be on view from Apr. 5 through July 26, 2008.
Robert Gerhart
The body of work presented by Robert Gerhart will include pieces from his most recent series of collage, pen, and graphite, subtly toned and layered. Working with traditional and alternative materials and techniques, Marcia Macdonald's one-of-a-kind and limited production jewelry surprises and delights. Sculptor David Newton will be exhibiting new mixed media work, focusing on the theme of reclamation, along with a group of organic forms of carved wood entitled Grove.

James Williams
Liz Zlot Summerfield's mixed media of clay
and metal culminate in a body of work that creates form through
the use of line. Her clay vessels incorporate metal in various
ways, which then come to rest in or next to metal baskets made
for each piece. The paintings and drawings of James Williams beckon
the viewer into a layered world of line, form and color.
