Lyssa Harvey

Watermark's featured artist, Lyssa Harvey, works in watercolor and pastels often portray colorful, energetic landscapes or chaotic, bold, soulful arrangements on paper. Her clay female figures are strong and spiritual.

Harvey seeks to create balance and beauty in her paintings. As a practicing therapist, Harvey spends many hours with women and children encouraging them to listen to their own emotional, spiritual, physical, intellectual strengths and needs. Her work is to help others develop a sense of well being and balance in their life. Harvey says that "Making art is truly a gift back to myself. It is fun and a very rich process. It is my time to play." Harvey is a member of the South Carolina Watercolor society and owner of The Art and Play Therapy Center of South Carolina.

Watermark's featured jewelry artist is Kelly Wenner, a native of Columbia. Even as a young girl, Wenner was always in touch with her creative side. Each piece of Wenner's jewelry is a one of a kind original work of art. She works out of her studio and gallery in Charleston. Her unique work can be found in many boutiques and galleries.

Wenner hand selects the finest natural materials, including turquoise, jasper, quartz, amethyst, tiger eye, coral, paua shells, abalone, wood and agate. She also includes Swavorski crystals and Czech glass. Finer materials make for better quality jewelry and timeless pieces.

Columbia artist Anastasia Chernoff will exhibit select examples of her figurative, hand-built, porcelain sculpture. Her work is surreal, playful, and thought provoking. Chernoff utilizes fine Australian Southern Ice porcelain, which surpasses Coleman porcelain and even Japanese porcelain in whiteness. Her surface treatments vary and consist of various oxides and painting techniques.
