Hidell Brooks Gallery in Charlotte, NC Features Works by Jonathan Robinson
Hidell Brooks Gallery in Charlotte, NC, is pleased to announce their first solo exhibition for Jonathan Robinson, entitled, Harmonious World, which will be on view through June 10, 2000.
The exhibition consists of nine new pastels drawing and four oil on canvases. Robinson was born in Chicago and received his BA and MFA from University of California at Berkley in 1982. His subject matter is mainly birds and porcelain objects which are his trademarks and represent his obsession with the fragility of life. The non-specific birds and foliage are created from memory and are recognizable to any viewer. The pastels are full of color, light, and movement yet create peaceful environments. Robinson now resides and works in his studio in France.
