About Face Unveils Spring Exhibition at Gallery 80808 in Columbia, SC
About Face opens its Spring Exhibition on May 25 at Gallery 80808 in Columbia, SC. About Face, now seven years old, can be best described as a figurative art study group. Its talented members gather each Tuesday and Wednesday night to work from live nude and costumed models. The group, with a current membership of 20, includes full time fine artists as well as artists working in allied fields: graphic design, illustration, television production, and set design. All members share the same passion for creating figurative artwork in a warm and friendly setting. The exhibition will feature figurative art created by current About Face members working in diverse media and styles. Public viewing of the exhibit is free and will continue daily through May 30.
About Face is a non-profit organization that is open to all Midlands area artists and students who are interested in exploring figurative art and portraiture for themselves. The first studio session is free, and five dollars for each session attended afterwards.
All artwork displayed will be for sale and portrait commissions will be available from participating artists.
