ElderArt Gallery Offers First Sidewalk Art Show & Sale in Charlotte, NC's South End District
ElderArt Gallery announces that it will host Charlotte, NC's Historic South End District's first annual sidewalk art show and sale on May 4th. The event will take place on the covered sidewalk outside the gallery, beginning at 10am and running until 4pm, and will feature the artwork of Charlotte artists.
"The intent of the show is to demonstrate ElderArt's support of our local artists by providing an opportunity for them to show and sell their work" said owner, Larry Elder. "Charlotte is very fortunate to have such a vibrant and talented artist community. One of the greatest challenges for the artists is finding a venue for showing their work."
Approximately twenty to twenty-five artists will be on hand to show and discuss their recent work. Many are professional artists who are not represented by a local gallery. Others are trained artists who practice their art outside their business careers.
Some of the participants will be painters Robert Langford, Patrick Glover, Mike Watson and Andrew Leventis. ason Basden will be on hand to show his unique sculptures. Photographers will include Lee Stewart and Conner Nguyen whose distinct works will round out the show.
A portion of the proceeds from the sale will go to support the work of The Nevins Center in Charlotte.
Historic South End District has become the home of a number of artists, galleries and interior design organizations and is one of Charlotte's most vibrant areas for the culinary and visual arts.
The gallery is located at 1427 South Boulevard near the intersection of South Boulevard and Bland Street.
