Greensboro Artists' League in Greensboro, NC, Features Works by Artists from the Johnson Atelier Institute

The Greensboro Artists' League (GAL) in Greensboro, NC, is presenting a dynamic exhibition of sculptural works by artists from the Johnson Atelier entitled A La Atelier. The exhibition will feature sculptural works by 19 Atelier artists. A La Atelier. will be held in the GAL gallery from May 3 - June 2, 2002.

The Johnson Atelier Technical Institute of Sculpture is a full-service educational, not-for-profit art casting and fabrication facility whose production of sculpture has earned them a place among the world's leading fine art foundries. Founded in 1974 by sculptor J. Seward Johnson, Jr., the Atelier provides emerging artists with an opportunity to work with experienced art technicians to gain knowledge needed to produce their own work. The Atelier is located in Mercerville, NJ, offering an apprenticeship program in its technical school, an exhibit area known as the Extension Gallery, a complete casting and fabrication facility, and serving as a membership associate of the 22-acre Grounds for Sculpture featuring outdoor works.

Gyuri Hollosy is the academic program coordinator of the Johnson Atelier, and also a long-time member of the Greensboro Artists' League. GAL is pleased to be bringing Gyuri Hollosy and this distinctive group of sculptors to the Greensboro Cultural Center for a month-long exhibit.

This exhibition is made possible with the support of the United Arts Council of Greensboro, the NC Arts Council, and the Grassroots Arts Program.
