Hodges Taylor Gallery in Charlotte, NC, Features Works by Richard Fennell & Maud Gatewood
Richard Fennell
Hodges Taylor Gallery in Charlotte, NC, is pleased to announce the opening of two new exhibitions on on view May 3 through June 29, 2002. Please join the gallery to celebrate with Richard Fennell and Maud Gatewood, two North Carolina painters who have demonstrated extraordinary skill in visually describing NC's varied landscapes.
Maud Gatewood
While Fennell continues to explore his immediate surroundings, finding amazing color even in the winter scenes, Gatewood shares memories of foreign vistas as well as her native territory. Both are keen observers, but there the similarity ends Gatewood's interests encourage an understanding of the patterns found in nature the world over. Fennell enjoys the play of light; he permits foliage to dissolve into shadows, leaving the viewer to imagine the unseen.
