Cheryl Newby Gallery in Pawleys Island, South Carolina, Presents Flowers & Botanicals
The Cheryl Newby Gallery will present a Springtime exhibit May 1 through June 2, 2002. The Artists Bouquet will feature floral still life paintings by well-known contemporary artists accompanied by an exhibit of original antique botanical works by famous French, English, and German artists.
The exhibition includes floral still life paintings by Ray Ellis of Marthas Vineyard, MA, Ellen Buselli of New York, NY, Joseph Cave of Georgetown, SC, and Claire K. Farrell of Columbia, SC. Antique botanicals by Pierre-Joseph Redouté, Basilius Besler, Dr. Robert Thornton, Mark Catesby and others will also be on view. Antique engravings will date from the early 17th century.
The Mint Museum of Art in Charlotte, NC, is currently presenting an exhibition entitled, Pierre-Joseph Redouté: A Man Passionate About Flowers, which will be on view through July 14, 2002. Come see why botanicals are the talk of Charlotte.
