Artists and Designers Join Forces to Benefit Hospice Care of the Lowcountry in Hilton Head, SC
Thirty-Eight Hilton
Head Art League artists and thirteen designers are coming together
to
furnish and finish a Designer House in Colleton River at 17 Middleton
Garden Place. The home will be open from May 18 through June 1,
Mon.-Sat., from 10am-4pm and Sun., 1-4pm. Tickets for the event
are $15 and proceeds are to benefit Hospice Care of the Lowcountry.
This Colleton River
estate is a brand new, "The Hampton's" inspired, 7500
square foot residence situated on a one-acre lot, designed by
architect John Pittman, and built by the Graves Construction Company.
The home is
sure to be exceptional and a must-see gem of a home when completed.
Top name interior designers are providing their ideas, furnishings
and accessories, while the artists, working in both 2 and 3-dimensional
media, are supplying a variety of artwork for the finishing touches.
The interior design
studios include: Creative Designs, Interior Motives, Inc., J.
Banks Design Group, Casual Living, Creative Kitchens, Laura Tucker
Designs, Katherine Cook Interiors, House of Design, Plantation
Interiors, Nest Interiors (Beaufort, SC), Savannah Hardscapes,
Main Cottage Interiors
(Charleston, SC), and Yours by Design.
The artwork includes
fabulous pastels by Joyce and Don Nagel, and Kathy Tortorella;
abstract and mixed media works by Vickie Jourdan, Jo Dye, Jerry
Purvis and Irene K. Williamson, luscious watercolors by Lynda
Potter, Dorothy Steelman and Don Theodore. Also, the work of Marilyn
Dizikes, Ellen
Huey, Folly King, Marsha Leinberger, Lynn Parrott, Alexandra Perry-Weiss,
Roy Rupy, art instructor, Alexandra Sharma, Fay Willis, Emily
Wilson and Clay Kittinger.
3-D art is being presented
by such well-known artists as John Diamond, Ann White, Regina
Lightfoot, Sara Tiffany, Nancy Wittke, photography by Art Cornell
and Frances Hubbell, and much more. You can expect to see fiber
art, baskets and tie-dyed scarves by Sue McFarland, jewlery by
Bill
McFarland, bird houses made out of gourds by Joyce Albrecht, or
gourd lamps by Mark Foltz. The variety is endless. All of the
artwork in the designer home is for sale.
Tickets at $15 each may be purchased at any of the participating designer's shops, Burke's Pharmacy on Main Street, directly from Hospice Care of the Lowcountry, as well as the Hilton Head Art League Gallery in Pineland Station.
The Hilton Head Art
League is a not-for-profit membership organization dedicated to
promoting the visual arts in the community. It operates a volunteer-managed
gallery in Pineland Station for the display and sale of
the artwork of its members. Over 200 Art League members are artists.
