Cleveland County Arts Center in Shelby, NC, Presents Works by Patricia Jessee

The Cleveland County Arts Center in Shelby, NC, will present the exhibition, Dancing Brush; Art improv, featuring pastels & oil pastels by Patricia Jessee from May 7 - 27, 2004.

During the exhibition you will see a variety of work done with several sources such as improv, chaos, intuition and the music of the spheres. Painting often to live music and "off the wall" is her highest enjoyment but she confesses that drawing from live models brings her focus down to detail and calm which is necessary to retain command of visual messages needing to go from eye to hand.

Jessee's life has always had multiple art forms leading her to dance a color, draw a movement, let the wind move her hand and brush. When not making her own dance or art
she has for over 30 years inspired everyone she meets to join in the experience. Her arts administrative work in New Orleans, Tennessee and now Virgina has always been led by this theme. "Don't just watch or look but participate". How better to enlarge the numbers of arts appreciators, audience, patrons and funders - but to share the JOY of the act of creating.

Currently, Jessee is Director of Adult Education and Community Programs at
the William King Regional Arts Center in Abingdon, VA.
