Dog Art Dealer in Charleston, SC, Features Exhibit of Works by Marty Whaley Adams
Dog Art Dealer in Charleston, SC, will be featuring an exhibit by Marty Whaley Adams entitled, Pet Portraits & Dog Paintings, on view from from May 4 - 25, 2004.
Adams, a native of Charleston, draws on inspiration from the colors, textures and rich nuances of her native city. Nationally recognized as an artist she paints in oil, watercolor and monotype. Formerly Artist in Residence for Victoria magazine and daughter of the late noted Charleston gardener and author, Emily Whaley, Adams' superb talent adds more to the wonderful legacy of creativity from the Whaley family. Often depicting your pet in a lovely vignette, her pet portraits always create a painting in which the animal has a very powerful presence creating a family treasure to pass on for generations.
The Dog Art Dealer is a source for dog paintings by national, international, and regional artists who paint 21st Century portraits of pets or simply dog paintings, select 19th and early 20th century paintings. The quaint Belgium Block street, North Atlantic Wharf, in the heart of the French Quarter now proudly houses four galleries ending with the beautiful City Gallery at Waterfront Park.
Dog Art Dealer, Jaynie Milligan Spector, has studied with Sothebys in London and worked as an art advisor since 1977. She has also worked for a short period in Christies Contemporary Art Department in New York and at a Soho art gallery. "To be able to combine beautiful artwork with the love of dogs is exhilarating." Trained by studying old masters at Sothebys and well qualified with knowledge gained from working with the entire contemporary art market, Jaynie Milligan Spector is able to find the best quality artists who reflect 21st Century art and masterfully depict dogs. Dog Art Dealer also offers 19th and early 20th century hunting and dog paintings which are selected by the former 19th Century Director from Christies who is currently a private dealer.
