Carolina Galleries in Charleston, SC, Features Works by Albert Handell and Anita Louise West

Carolina Galleries in Charleston, SC, is proud to present the exhibit, Albert Handell and Anita Louise West - Light & Landscape, featuring pastels by Albert Handell and oils by Anita Louise West. The exhibition will be on view from May 20 through June 10, 2005. Carolina Galleries has shown their work since 2004.

The 32 paintings in the show were painted during the month of Nov. 2004. The work includes plein air work from the surrounding sea islands of Charleston and Beaufort, SC, as well as studio work from various locations in South Carolina.

Anita Louise West

Handell and West are internationally acclaimed artists living in Santa Fe, NM. They bring to Charleston and the Lowcountry their unique perspectives through pastels and oils. As an artistic team, they complement each other's visions, and have published instructional books and videos. Handell and West conduct lectures and workshops both nationally and abroad. Their paintings are in numerous public and private collections.

In addition to being Charleston's oldest gallery specializing in the art of the Charleston Renaissance, Carolina Galleries also features contemporary paintings celebrating the region's continuing aesthetic evolution. The gallery has been featured in Southern Accents, National Geographic Explorer, Town and Country, and Architectural Digest. Carolina Galleries has a primary emphasis on nineteenth and twentieth century masterpieces, especially landscapes and genre scenes in Charleston art, spanning from the 1850s to the present.
