Upstate Visual Arts Presents Exhibit at the Commerce Club in Greenville, SC

In collaboration with the Commerce Club, Upstate Visual Arts is proud to present its newest exhibit, Four Artists, featuring the work of four local artists, to be on display at the Commerce Club in Greenville, SC, through May 31, 2005. Included in the exhibit are works by the following artists: Daniel Cvammen, Rebecca Jonas, Cara Rivera, and Lu Wixon.

Each of the four artists participating in this exhibit are members of Upstate Visual Arts, Greenville's only non-profit organization dedicated solely to the visual arts.

Daniel Cvammen, who paints in oils on wood and canvas, will be showing work centered around the sky motif, along with several portraits. Rebecca Jonas, who organized this exhibit for Upstate Visual Arts, will have works on display in 2D and 3D mixed media, sculpture, and pastels.

Cara Rivera, a painter and carver of gourds, will be displaying a collection of Native American dolls, musical instruments, gourd vessels, and an impressive panoramic of Greenville carved on a giant gourd. And finally, Lu Wixon will be showing figurative works painted in acrylic on wood, using a line motif.

"The works in this show complement each other well," said Rebecca Jonas. "It will be a colorful and energetic show."

"We hope that the works in this exhibit will fly off the Commerce Club walls and into happy collectors homes,"said Alan Seale, sponsorship coordinator for Upstate Visual Arts, who initiated this exhibit with the Commerce Club.

Jeans, shorts, sleeveless shirts, and tennis shoes are not permitted in the club and cell phones must be on vibrate. Visitors are requested to check in with the front desk upon arrival.

The Upstate Visual Arts Commerce Club exhibit serves to further the mission of Upstate Visual Arts: to elevate the stature of visual art and educate the public to its significance. Other UVA exhibits include the Greenville/Spartanburg International Airport exhibit and the exhibit at the Registry of Deeds in County Square. Upstate Visual Arts exists to enhance the quality of life within the community by elevating the stature of visual art and educating the public to its significance.
