Asheville, NC's River District Offers Annual Studio Stroll - June 10 & 11, 2006
Asheville, NC's River District Artists will open their studios for the Summer Studio Stroll from 10am to 6pm on June 10 & 11, 2006. The number of artists participating in the Stroll has grown from 39 to 52 in the past year, and there are now twelve buildings to visit. All kinds of fine art and craft are available for purchase including paintings, pottery, glass, sculpture, quilts, fine woodwork, jewelry and more.
There will be an Information Booth at the intersection of Clingman, Lyman, Roberts and Depot Streets. Each participating studio building will have yellow "Studio Stroll" flags flying outside. Admission is free, and parking is easy. Children are welcome when accompanied by an adult. Parking is plentiful, and most studios are within walking distance. Everyone attending will have the chance to enter the "Golden Raffle" by getting a raffle ticket punched at five or more studios.
Strollers can take a break at one of three eateries in the District: 12 Bones Barbeque, Clingman Café, and Twin Cousins café at the Grey Eagle Tavern. All three will be open both days of the Stroll.
Limited Edition silk screen prints designed by Railside Studios Mixed Media artist Jen Swearington will be available for purchase for $10 at all studio buildings. This is the third in a series of five posters.
New full color maps with directions and a list of participating artists will be available soon at the Asheville Chamber of Commerce, The Asheville Area Arts Council, at River District studios and at galleries and other locations around town.
