Silver Fox Gallery in Hendersonville, NC, Features Works by Patricia Cole-Ferullo
An exhibit of new work by Patricia Cole-Ferullo entitled, Innerscapes, opens at the Silver Fox Gallery in Hendersonville, NC, on May 5. The exhibit continues through June 30, 2006. The artist is moving to Italy on May 9, 2006.
"Innerscapes is an exhibit of abstract landscapes, many of which reflect a sort of internal view of the soul as well as an external view of the physical world," said Bonnie Rash, gallery owner.
"Several of these final works, painted just weeks before Pat's departure from Western North Carolina, are dramatic mountain scenes that appear to be a final tribute to the Blue Ridge," Rash said.
Cole-Ferullo received a degree in Fine Art from the Florida State University, prior to studying with Nicholas Carone, a man who studied with Hans Hoffman and was one of the founders of the New York Studio School. From this beginning, Cole-Ferullo's work has always demonstrated a looseness and freedom.
Following studies at the Instituto de Allende in Mexico, Cole-Ferullo lived again in Florida, her native state, and began painting with an organic quality and experimenting with color.
The artist continues to create work using energetic sketching and expressive colors, melding form with feeling. According to fellow artist and friend Carol Beth Icard, "Pat paints with the uncanny ability to show us what is not only within her, but within us all."
Cole-Ferullo will continue to be a resident artist of the Silver Fox Gallery and will ship her paintings to Hendersonville following her move from Tryon, NC, to Italy.
Other resident artists of the Silver Fox Gallery are William Martin Jean, Leo Monahan, Carol Beth Icard, Philip Dusenbury, Sharon Tesche, Margaret Scanlan, Knoxville, Colleen Sterling and Susan Webb Lee.
