Jonas Gerard Fine Art Open New Gallery in Asheville, NC
Nationally recognized artist Jonas Gerard, known for his large colorful abstract painting, has moved to a new studio/gallery in the River Arts District in Asheville, NC, after forty years in Miami, FL.
Gerard's fast, spontaneous style is a delight to watch. Bringing to life the tradition of Abstract Expressionism, his paintings explode with movement and color. These splashes of color, whether painted or thrown on, create a spirited canvas and composition not soon forgotten. Jonas says, "I don't paint, I discover"; and now Gerard discovers Asheville.
On June 9, 2007, Jonas Gerard Fine Art will
be opening the doors at 240 Clingman Avenue for the gallery's
first Studio Stroll in the River Arts District. The district is
comprised of warehouses that have been transformed into artist
studios, galleries and living quarters for professional artists.
The exhibit will showcase Gerard's painting, sculpture and mixed
media, including a series of brand new paintings.
A wide array of fine art and craft works are for sale during the
Stroll, including paintings, prints, sculpture, functional and
decorative ceramics, glass, jewelry, furniture, and much more.
Come and meet the artists. Studios will be open Sat. and Sun.,
June 9-10, 2007, from 10am-6pm.
