May Issue 2007

Mary Martin Gallery of Fine Art in Charleston, SC, Features Works by Richard Pankratz and Robin Daniels

Nationally recognized artists, Richard Pankratz and Robin Daniels, from Monument, CO, and Mesa, AZ, will be showing new work from May 3 - 31, 2007, at the Mary Martin Gallery of Fine Art in Charleston, SC.

Richard Pankratz

Richard Pankratz is a master sculpture working in the medium of bronze and clay for the past 25 years. His early career concentrated with clay, but then he switched in the mid 90's to creating exclusively bronze pieces as well as clay and bronze pieces and likes to combine them to create even more interesting work.

Pankratz will be showing small and large bronze and clay sculptures which are in small editions and vessels, unique furniture, as well as breathtaking graceful fountains and outdoor pieces. He has private collectors from across the country as well as corporate collectors such BF Goodrich, Kaiser Permanente, and  St. Joseph's Hospital displaying his pieces in their buildings, homes and gardens.

It was Pankratz's dream as a Kansas farm boy, to be a successful artist one day and to be able to follow his passion. He received his undergraduate degree from Kansas City Art Institute and his Masters in art from Emporia State University.

Robin Daniels will feature her new work in this exhibit. She has had a successful career as a painter for the last 20 years. She uses encaustic wax mixed with pigments and resins on wood panels to create brilliantly colored unique works of art. Her pieces are filled with textures and designs that set them apart from the traditional oil on canvas paintings.

Daniels studied at the University of Hartford, which is well known for Art and Music. She spent a semester in Rome studying the stunning architecture and galleries featuring the old masters. Her work displays a large influence from her time spent there.   She received her Masters of Fine Art from the Pratt Institute in New York. Daniels' work is displayed in galleries across the United States.

Wonderfully matched for the May show, both Pankratz and Daniels convey a spirit of creation and a feeling of being one with the earth in their mediums.
