Spencer Art Gallery in Charleston, SC, Features Works by Nancy Davidson and Delaine Walters
Spencer Art Gallery in Charleston, SC, will present the following exhibitions in its Gallery I, at 55 Broad Street, including: Local Color, featuring paintings by Nancy Davidson from May 4 - 12, 2007 and Charleston With Style, featuring paintings by Delaine Walters on view from May 18 - 26, 2007.
Davidson is an accomplished painter who
works in several media. "Before putting a brush or pastel
to canvas or paper, I prefer to live with the image for several
weeks while thinking about an approach to the subject. Once decided,
I let my natural style and color language lead me" say Davidson.
The results are unique interpretations of her chosen subject matters.
Delaine Walters paints in watercolors, pen and ink, acrylics and oils. Lately she has been working in watercolor/batik. The exhibit focuses on various aspects of the Charleston scene as seen by fresh eyes. "I enjoy the excitement of the unknown which makes each painting a mystery and a delight in itself. The beauty of God's hands can be found around each corner we turn and I try to capture that beauty," says Walters.
