North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences
in Raleigh, NC, Features Works by Mary Norman Hambidge
North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences in Raleigh, NC, will present the exhibit, Portrait of Cumberland Island, featuring works of shorebirds and coastal landscapes by Mary Norman Hambidge, in the Nature Art Gallery from May 2 through June 1, 2008.
The amazing wilderness found on Cumberland Island, GA, and its proximity to mainland Florida are featured in the newest show at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences' Nature Art Gallery. This series of watercolors by Mary Norman Hambidge represents quiet and peaceful times spent on the Island.
"Florida is unique - a place apart and an ongoing influence on my life as an artist," Hambidge says. "Travel allows me to explore the intersection of my internal perspective with the broader outer world." An art teacher and Creative Release Therapist, Hambidge lives and works in Minneapolis, MN, and until now, had only shown her work locally.
The Nature Art Gallery is located on the top floor of the Museum Store at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences.
