June Issue 2000
The Art Cellar in Banner Elk, NC, Features Works by Three Artists
The Art Cellar in Banner Elk, NC, will be showing new works by artists Bob Clark, Chris Clark and Greg Smith from June 2 - July 1.
Bob Clark and Chris Clark, two serious North Carolina Artists, paint spectacular works in oil that bring to mind the Dutch Masters of Realism and an era rich with antiquity. Yet, the intimate still-lifes of the two brothers are presented with a modern sensibility, each with their own unique, personal interpretations. The exhibit will mark their third exhibition with Pamela McKay, the owner of The Art Cellar Gallery. Along with the excitement of Bob & Chris Clark's work, there will be a debut exhibition of emerging Appalachian landscape artist, Greg Smith.
Smith's rural and sometimes lucid perspectives nestled in area surroundings have been titled Touchstone Gallery As a native of Banner Elk and the vicinity, he has paid more attention to the small details of rolling hills and abandoned shacks than the average person, his skills with observation transfer onto canvas as eloquent and heartfelt compositions in acrylic; Drive by Scenes.
