Caldwell Arts Council in Lenoir, NC, Presents Another "The Other Group" Exhibition

During the month of June, the Caldwell Arts Council in Lenoir, NC, will present an exhibit with a display of the works of a diverse group of artists collectively known as "The Other Group". Group members include: Andy Atkin, Victoria Bauer, Lynda Lea Bonkemeyer, Jean Cauthen, Vae Hamilton, Deborah Klein, Bobbi Miller, Tom Oakley, Pat Pilchard, Will Pilchard, Ellen Schwarzbek and Tom Thielemann. The exhibit entitled, Oh Brother, Another Other Show, will be presented in the memory of Jo Seila, a founding member, who passed away in 2001. It will be on view from June 7 - 28, 2002.

"The Other Group" has been in existence for the past eight years. Their purpose is as an artist's critique and discussion group. They meet monthly and membership is by invitation. Diversity in style and media, and a willingness to share opinions in an open setting are requirements made of the participating members. The group also works on group projects, one of which will be on exhibit in this show. The name, "The Other Group," originates from the informal title the artists used to distinguish themselves from another group of artists in the area.

During this exhibition's opening reception, Lucy F. McCarl will be doing a book signing of her new book, To Everything A Season. First Citizens Bank is the sponsor for this exhibit.
