The Caldwell Arts Council and First Citizen Bank will host an exhibit of works by members of the Brush and Palette Club in the month of June. The exhibit will be sponsored by First Citizen Bank which will be on view from June 4 - 26, 2004, at the Caldwell Arts Council in Lenoir, NC. The exhibit will feature of a variety of artworks by each of the artists in the Brush and Palette Club.
The Brush and Palette Club was originated in the early Seventies by a group of local ladies, who had a common interest in fine art. What began primarily as a social club, enjoying hors-d-oeuvres and a little wine sipping, has evolved into an art club boasting 23 active painting members. These members regularly exhibit their work at several locations locally and regionally. The Caldwell County Historical Museum houses paintings by several of the charter members of this club. Brush and Palette Club supports the Caldwell Arts Council and encourages members to attend workshops, read good art books, and to learn and grow in the arts.
