June Issue 2005
Waterfront Gallery in Charleston, SC, Features Works by Mott Kornahrens
The Waterfront Gallery in Charleston, SC, will be featuring works by Mott Sutcliffe Kornahrens through June 30, 2005.
Kornahrens' colorful collages, especially of
people doing ordinary things, are well-known and sought after.
She carries a camera with her whenever she goes out, capturing
the scenes she finds interesting or appealing. Then with her paint
and paper, she adds and subtracts bits and pieces until she is
satisfied and feels the viewer can "connect" with the
painting.
A sense of humor can often be felt in her paintings since her
motto is "art that makes you smile." Kornahrens says,
"Often, there is too much seriousness in the word and art
should be enjoyed, a respite in your domain, not only decorative,
but also comforting".
Works by Chris Ritsch will also be on view during this exhibit.
