Richland Co. Public Library in Columbia, SC, Features Works by Edwin R. Wallace
The Richland County Public Library in Columbia, SC, will feature artwork by Edwin R. Wallace, IV, aka Laguna de Montana, on display from June 13 through July 25, 2006, in the Wachovia Gallery at the Library. The exhibit, Mental Illness and Addiction, wraps up National Mental Health Month and offers a diverse selection of styles and interpretations.
Wallace's work spans a variety of genres including semi-surrealist, abstract/pictorial expressionist and folkart. He suggests his work offers "pleasure and relaxation for the tired mental worker."
Wallace, a professor at USC, has had his artwork
featured at Winthrop University's Rutledge Gallery and a variety
of churches, restaurants and coffee shops throughout the Midlands.
He was a semi-finalist at the 2005 Piccolo Spoleto Festival
and his Afro-American series will be featured at the 2006
MOJA Arts Festival in Charleston, SC.
