Theatre Art Galleries in High Point, NC, Offers New Exhibitions
Theatre Art Galleries in High Point, NC, will offer new exhibitions, on view through Aug. 12, 2006.
Faces of Our State features images from Our State magazine's photographers in TAG's upstairs Gallery B. The focus is on diverse portraits of North Carolinians in everyday life. This powerful exhibition will coincide with the Celebrate Our State Festival to be held at Showplace, from June 9-11, 2006.
Photographers include: Bruce Roberts (Morehead
City) showing archive photos from his years as a contributor to
Time and Life. Other photographers include: Mark
Wagoner (Greensboro), Jill Davis (Raleigh), D.H. Hessell (Hudson),
Kim Fennema (Vandemere), Jack Daulton (Lenoir), and Alan Watson
(Taylorsville).
Also on exhibit in the Lobby and Hallway galleries is the SilverArts
Juried Show, featuring the "Ageless Collages" project.
This project was conducted by Theatre Art Galleries at the Culler
Senior Center in March and provided professional artist, Maxine
Campbell to work with the seniors in creating collaged paintings
of their lives. This project was funded in part by a grant from
High Point Area Arts Council. Other art works from area seniors
will be on exhibit as well.
The Kaleidoscope Youth Gallery features artwork from the Weaver
Academy for Advanced Technology & Performing & Visual
Arts in Greensboro. Outstanding artworks from the high school
students of art teacher Lisa Creed will be displayed.
The High Point Fine Art Guild's Summer Juried Show will be exhibited in TAG's Main Gallery. The judge is Greensboro artist, Jo Leeds, and prizes will be awarded to the winners.
