The Other Half Gallery in Winston-Salem, NC, Features Works by Antoinette Noble
The Other Half Gallery in Winston-Salem, NC, is presenting the encaustic paintings of Antoinette Noble of Phoenix, AZ, through Sept. 2, 2007.
Encaustic painting is an ancient art form that
is experiencing a rebirth. A beewax based paint is kept liquid
on a heated palette. Layers of wax are applied to a surface and
fused together using a heat gun. The wax can be built up
and even sculpted. Colors are vibrant and texture is varied. The
works of Noble are refreshing and spirited.
The gallery will also be showing new organic whimsical forms by
Dodie Campbell of Winston Salem which will titillate the beholders
senses. Her slip cast porcelain forms are art with hints
of functionality. Always wonderfully creative, Campbell keeps
you guessing what is going on in her creative mind.
Martin and Linda Henry of New Bern, NC, create brass and faceted
crystal jeweled window charmers and garden stakes. Whether in
the garden or viewed from a window, these whimsical, spiritual,
fun charmers will be a perfect addition.
The exquisite Pennsyvania cherry and ambrosia maple bench by Jack
Dent of East Bend, NC, is not to be missed. Perfect for your veranda
or special room. Dent continues to create beautiful art that
if functional. Come have a seat on the bench.
Artists works also available at the gallery are: Celeste Chapman-Dent
(Fused Glass), Mary Ann Zotto (Paintings), Ron Propst (Ceramics),
Chris Teague (Fused Glass), Nic Bernard (Ceramics), Mike Cowan
