WICKWIRE Gallery in Hendersonville, NC, Features Works by Bill and Pamela Clark
WICKWIRE fine art/folk art in Hendersonville, NC, proudly features an exhibit of art pottery by Bill and Pamela Clark, including original, hand thrown and decorated stoneware and earthenware - one of a kind pottery. The exhibit will be on view from June 1 - 30, 2007.
The Clark's pottery is influenced by the Mission style, Arts and Crafts Movement of the early 1900's. Pieces are carefully made with unique shapes, organic designs, and flowing colors to be one of a kind. Bill studied ceramics with Harding Black in San Antonio, TX, and at Newcomb College in New Orleans, LA. He has been making art pottery for over 35 years.
Pamela studied art at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC, and has been making art and pottery for over 25 years.
The Clarks married in Florence, Italy, in 2000 and returned to South Carolina. Chosen by the South Carolina State Museum in Columbia, SC, the Clark's pottery is on display in the museum's permanent collection. Their work is also in the York County Art Museum's permanent collection as well as other private collections and collected internationally as far away as Italy and Scotland. The Clarks are members of the American Art Pottery Association and represented by WICKWIRE fine art/ folk art.
WICKWIRE will offer an oil painting demonstration by Sarah Sneeden on June 9, from 1-5pm at the gallery's 329 N. Main location in Hendersonville. Sneeden is an associate member of Oil Painters of America; she prefers the permanency of oils for her finished pieces; and, her favorite way of working is en plein air - out-of-doors on location.
