Blue Heron Glass in Charleston, SC,
Offers Works by Michael Barnett
Blue Heron Glass in Charleston, SC, will be featuring works by local glassblower, Michael Barnett from June 3 - 28, 2008.
Barnett, owner of Ganesh Glass, has always been drawn to the beauty of glass and the inherent dangers in working with this medium. Barnett began his formal training 7 years ago in San Francisco at Public Glass. Since then, he has studied at the Penland School of Crafts in NC and most recently, The Studio at Corning Glass. "Turning molten glass, with its extreme heat and fluidity, into a piece so delicate and unforgiving is a thrill to do each day," states Barnett. His enthusiasm is apparent when viewing his contemporary collection.
