Birds of a Feather and Red Door Art Galleries in Hendersonville, NC, Features Works by Linda Hendricks
Linda Hendricks has been named Artist of the Month for July by the Birds of a Feather and Red Door Art Galleries in downtown Hendersonville, NC.
Hendricks is a native of Michigan. She began her study of art at an early age and her work reflects a sincere approach to familiar and well-loved images. She presents landscapes, architectural subjects and still lifes with flowers and fruit. Her acrylic, watercolor and mixed media works are rendered in a fresh, uninhibited style, and she paints with a pallette of subdued, mellow colors. Her painting, Rustic Window is a mixed media rendering of a stucco building with shutters, in front of which is a simple pot of geraniums. Painted in muted tones and with simplicity and a gentle touch, this work offers an appealing scene from everyday life.
The cooperative galleries feature original works by twenty local artists. Gallery artists express their creativity in a wide range of media, and they utilize diverse techniques and styles in their work. Realistic renderings of familiar subjects in low-key, calm tones alternate with bold abstract images of vivid colors and lively forms.
