July Issue 2000
Lee County Arts Council in Bishopville, SC, Features Exhibit
Kate Lehman and Jennifer Dumouchel will be the featured artists for July at the Bishopville Opera House, at the Lee County Arts Council's office, located at 109 Main Street, Bishopville, SC.
Kate works in oils, creating both traditional 2-D paintings and wearable art. In Kate's Angel Series the fantastical forms seem to dance and skitter across their ground, sometimes drifting on a simple backdrop, sometimes whirling amid painted pieces of another world. The Geography Series is comprised of high energy scenic interpretations in vibrant colors, with suggestive forms sculpting an abstract landscape into the viewer's mindset. In Kate's Fountain Series outrageous color flows across the canvas with seemingly unharnessed abandon.
Jennifer is a photographer, composing dramatic scenes from around the world through a distinctive camera's eye, carving the ordinary world with her imagination. This exhibit is comprised primarily of black & white elegance from Europe and Africa, with touches of color work from her newest series.
