The Pickens County Museum in Pickens, SC, Features Works by Fiber Artists
The Pickens County Museum of Art & History in Pickens, SC, is presenting the exhibition, FOCUS: An Exhibition of Fiber Artists. This entertaining selection of pictured and patterned quilts, soft sculpture and other works of fiber art will remain on display through July 25, 2002.
FOCUS, an arts group in the Upstate of South Carolina, was formed to provide active support, stimulation and motivation for its individual members to express their creativity, in particular through the medium of fabric. Their key objective is to increase public awareness of the art quilt through the unique message of each member's own work.
FOCUS was formed in the spring of 1994 as an offshoot of the statewide Quilters of South Carolina. Members of the group exhibiting in the Pickens County Museum Show include: Marge Edie, Janet Ginn, Priscilla Hair, Ann Hawkins, Martine House, Pat Kilburg, Marjan Kluepfel, Claude Smith, Barb Tennyson and Marilyn Wall.
