July Issue 2003
Charleston County Public Library in Charleston, SC, Offers Works by Bonnie B. Dorazio
Artist Bonnie B. Dorazio will share her work throughout the month of July, 2003, in the Saul Alexander Gallery, located on the first floor of the downtown Main Library, in Charleston, SC. The exhibit of existing-light color photography is titled, Lowcountry Light: A Feminine Perspective.
Dorazio has been creating existing-light color photography since 1985. Subjects are drawn from Charleston, often with a nostalgic theme. She uses no artificial light, preferring to work with the existing light of the scene. When assembled, her photographic vignettes present a collection of visual poems, all part of her endless discovery of the city of Charleston.
Dorazio has received numerous awards at both the local and state level. She received and "Editor's Choice Award" for 1998-99 from the International Library of Photography and has been published in several of their publications.
