The Arts Center in Hendersonville, NC, Presents Photographic Exhibition

The Arts Center, in Hendersonville, NC, in conjunction with The North Carolina School of the Arts, is pleased to present, A Day in the Life of North Carolina School of the Arts, an award-winning photo exhibit detailing the daily life and leisure of the students in attendance at the nationally acclaimed arts conservatory in Winston-Salem, NC. Consisting of a collection of 29 gallery style photos, the exhibit allows the viewer to peer inside the hearts and minds of the North Carolina's youngest artists. The exhibition will be on view from July 2 - 19, 2003.

Wade Hobgood is Chancellor at the North Carolina School of the Arts. Hobgood, the project mastermind, trained as a graphic artist and originally commissioned Christine Rucker to create a sort of documentary of the life of several students at NCSA, but the project quickly grew into something much bigger. "We believe this collection of photographs captures the passion, creativity, style and personality of the North Carolina School of the Arts," Hobgood said. "It is who we are. And we want the world to see it."

The Arts Center is a community supported arts venue that receives no local, state or federal funding. Founded in 1992, its mission is to bring arts experiences to a diverse community in Western North Carolina. It is located on Main Street, on the second floor of the historic Skyland Hotel where legend holds that F. Scott Fitzgerald lived and wrote while Zelda was in the hospital in nearby Asheville, NC.
