Cheryl Newby Gallery in Pawleys Island, SC, Features Works by Kathy Metts
The Cheryl Newby Gallery in Pawleys Island,
SC, will feature the works of well-known lowcountry artist Kathy
Metts during a special one-person show of the artist's work. Metts,
whose unmistakable style has come to be widely recognized, will
have 23 paintings exhibited and for sale. The show, Summer
Whimsy- New Paintings by Kathy Metts, will be on view from
July 1 - 23, 2005.
Noted for vivid color, and swirling depictions of life in the
Carolina lowcountry, the native North Carolinian's work is sought
after by a growing number of collectors. In 1964 she attended
the NC Governor's School for the Arts, and in 1976 earned her
BA degree in Art from the University of North Carolina in Greensboro.
Her paintings have been exhibited throughout the Carolinas and
were exhibited in a three person show in Bois-Colombes, France
in 2003.
