Upstate Visual Arts in Greenville, SC, Features Works by Six of Its Member Artists at Commerce Club

In collaboration with the Commerce Club, Upstate Visual Arts is proud to present, The Ties that Bind, an exhibit featuring the work of six local artists, which will be on display at the Commerce Club in Greenville, SC, through July 16, 2005.

Included in the exhibit are the following artists: Dale Cochran, Bruce Schlein, Cynda Moss, Susan Bridges-Smith, Dottie Blair, Sarah Rowan Dahl, and Nancy Clayton. Each of these artists are members of Upstate Visual Arts, Greenville's largest non-profit organization dedicated solely to the visual arts.

The Ties that Bind embraces a variety of media, from watercolor, photography, pastel and pencil to textiles, oils and even pen and ink on silk in traditional oriental styles. Coordinator Rebecca Jonas praises the wide range of media and subjects. "It is the artist's nature to compare himself to his peers," says Rebecca. "I'm re-directing that instinct to get the artists to show works that complement the works of their peers. This could be the most interesting show I've ever hung." Most of the works on display are for sale.
