Art League of Henderson County in Hendersonville, NC, Features Works by Monita Mahoney
The Art League of Henderson County will present an exhibition of works by guest artist Monita Mahoney at Opportunity House in Hendersonville, NC. The exhibit will hang in the Grace Etheredge Room from July 7 through Aug. 4, 2006.
Mahoney is a contemporary
artist whose work is a unique blend of color and texture. Watermedia
is her primary focus, and the exploration of all its possibilities
has led her to a diversity of mediums including collage, marbling,
papermaking and fiber arts.
"Working in more than one medium is like the farmer who rotates
his crops to replenish the earth each medium I use enhances
my use of the others," says Mahoney. "My subject
matter and the feeling I want to convey about that particular
subject determine which medium or combination of mediums I use."
Mahoney's work has been hung in many national and regional exhibitions including New York City and Washington, DC.
