Coastal Discovery Museum on Hilton Head Island, SC, Features Nature Exhibit
The newest exhibit at
the Coastal Discovery Museum, Lowcountry Nature - A Seasonal
Perspective, will be on view through Sept. 25, 2006, in the
Jarvis Room at the Museum on Hilton Head Island, SC. This exhibit
will trace through photographic imagery, video, and specimen artifact/models
seasonal natural events that occur in the Lowcountry.
Hilton Head Island is a dynamic place used by different animals
during different times of the year. One can expect to see the
arrival of different migratory birds that use the island at different
times of the year, as well as some of our wading birds going through
dramatic changes in colors and feathers during certain seasons.
There are a number of natural events that take place on Hilton Head Island that many people are intrigued about, like the spawning of the horse shoe crab, the nesting of sea turtles and alligators, dolphins stranded while feeding and the hatching of butterflies.
The exhibit will feature pictures by members of the Camera Club of Hilton Head and other illustrative materials.
For further information check our SC Institutional Gallery listings or call the Museum at 843/689-6767.
