July Issue 2006
Fountainside Gallery in Wilmington, NC, Features Works by Paula Holtzclaw
Carolina Impressions, a one-woman show by regionally
recognized landscape artist Paula Holtzclaw which opens on July
7 at Fountainside Gallery in Wilmington, NC. The exhibit will
continue until July 24, 2006.
The exhibit is Holtzclaw's first solo exhibition with Fountainside Gallery. The show features new works of coastal scenes in North and South Carolina as well as locations from the mountains and rural areas around her home in the western part of the state.
Holtzclaw has developed
a distinctive style of realism over her ten-year career as a painter.
Collectors are drawn to the luminous quality of her work and her
depiction of pristine "low country" landscapes. Her
scenes of tranquil marshes contrasted against dramatic skies offer
her viewers a place of quiet contemplation.
Holtzclaw's paintings are included among numerous private and
corporate collections throughout the United States. She resides
in Waxhaw, NC, and spends time with her husband visiting coastal
areas between Wrightsville Beach, NC, and Litchfield, SC.
