UNC Asheville in Asheville, NC, Features Works by Alice Sebrell
UNC Asheville is presenting
the exhibit, Secrets, an exhibition of recent works by Asheville
photographer Alice Sebrell, on view through July 14, 2006, at
the Highsmith University Union Gallery in Asheville, NC. The series
of photographs capture sculptural animal forms overlaid with text.
Sebrell holds a master's of fine arts degree in photography from
the Savannah College of Art and Design and a bachelor's of fine
arts degree from the University of Delaware. Her work has been
exhibited nationally and internationally and is in numerous collections,
including the Asheville Art Museum, Bank of America, R.J. Reynolds,
Davidson College and the Greenville (SC) County Museum of Art.
Sebrell has won wide acclaim, including being named a recipient of a North Carolina Arts Council Project Grant and a Charlotte/Mecklenburg Arts and Science Council Regional Emerging Artist Grant. Sebrell, a native of Charlotte, has lived in Asheville for nine years. She serves as the program coordinator for the Black Mountain College Museum + Arts Center in downtown Asheville.
