As the exclusive representatives, since 1978, of the estate of Alfred Hutty, Carolina Galleries presents both the artists of the Charleston Renaissance of the early to mid- 20th century and current artists who are creating the new "renaissance." Representational works honoring the Lowcountry and southern environs is the specialty of the gallery. Oil paintings, watercolors and fine art prints are the mainstays of the gallery's collection. As the exclusive local purveyor of Stephen Scott Young's work and representing Stephen Chesley, Craig Crawford, Johnson Hagood, John Burmeister, Julian Davis, Tom McNickle, Philip Juras, Betty Robinson among others, the gallery continues the tradition of presenting the glory of the south to the special collector.
Carolina Framing will be under new management. Bonnie Deininger is the new owner of the frame shop. She will keep the phone number 843/723-2266 and will announce their new location for framing in the very near future.
Covering two distinct periods in one distinct
gallery, Carolina Galleries has been profiled in Architectural
Digest, National Geographic Explorer, Southern Accents, and
